Pierre, NORML Executive Director The recent and unfortunate suspension of Ronnie Hults, a NASCAR driver from Colorado who is a lawful medical. ![]() Matlab list serial ports. Can you tell the off season boredom is already getting to me? An interesting thing I thought of a few days ago. I know Jules Bianchi smokes, because he was once 'mugged while out for a smoke with a friend' (from some article earlier in the year). I know Schumi smokes cigars, I've heard that Lauda also smokes now (I highly doubt he smoked when he was still racing) Also Rosberg once said that one driver in the paddock chain smokes (a lot of people thought it was Raikkonen) Historically, a lot of drivers smoked, you'd often see pictures of drivers smoking while sitting on/in/next to their cars (the most famous obviously being James Hunt). These days, because of the fitness levels required in F1, and also probably because of the business side of F1 (in terms of marketability and such nonsense), you won't see drivers smoking. But surely back in the 70s and 80s when you saw a lot of drivers smoking, it would still require a high fitness level, possibly more than today because of the lack of power steering and the more powerful, heavier cars? What Nascar Drivers Smoke![]() So who do you know, or think smokes? Nascar Drivers That Smoke CigarettesWhile Colorado and Washington both now allow for the recreational smoking of marijuana, truck drivers living or traveling through the state are forbidden from a quick toke. The federal Department of Transportation on Monday affirmed that the new marijuana legalization rules do not apply to anyone who drives a commercial truck for a living. According to the DOT Office of Drug and Alcohol Policy and Compliance: “We have had several inquiries about whether these state initiatives will have an impact upon the Department of Transportation’s longstanding regulation about the use of marijuana by safety‐sensitive employees – pilots, school bus drivers, truck drivers, train engineers, subway operators, aircraft maintenance personnel, transit fire‐armed security personnel, ship captains, and pipeline emergency response personnel, among others.
